artist statement

I am an investigator of performance, absorbed in the art of creating images and moments at the intersection of dance, theater and other time-based arts. By working in all aspects of the conception and design of live performance I have developed an understanding of the processes and systems in producing theater that both visually and kinesthetically stimulates audiences.

As a connected part of the dance and theater communities in Los Angeles for over 5 years I have been fortunate to engage with diverse performance companies and individual artists. Collaborations with writers, musicians, filmmakers and fellow entertainers have helped expand and challenge me as an artist. Every theatrical experience I witness and participate in makes me a finer explorer, a more sophisticated storyteller.

In his book Theater and Everyday Life Alan Read writes, "Good theater stands face to face with its audience. Where theater has been able to do this it has changed lives and histories." I still believe in the power of theater.
