born
in a suburb outside of Philly named Conshohocken. It was there amid a
laughing
satiric Italian Puerto Rican Catholic homelife (eternal blasting TV -
General Hopsital and the Flintstones - Radio screaming - American
Bandstand (her Uncle Cha Cha danced on the show), a Spanish station -
Motown) that she sat and doodled cartoons and drawings with one liners
like a low tech obsessed demon artist. Her mother, (Imagine Charo mixd
with Lily Munster) has a massive doll collection. Her father, (think
Ralph Cramden and Barney Miller with a touch of Perry Mason) has a
massive toy collection. A carpenter by trade with a well equipped
workshop in the basement he taught Cindy how to use power tools. Dad is
also a folk artist who paints primitive hometown scenes on old handsaws
and tools. After graduating from high school she got diverted into
singing lead in a band, The Yaya's for 8 years. In1988 she followed a
friend to Los Angeles and discovered her love for art again. She
eventually settled on assemblage art and cartooning as her favorite
genres. She published a book of one panels called
"Poodleland"
on Atmus Press and her cartoons had been published regularly in the
Coagula
Art Journal. Her past few years have been spent in the creation
of her "Save Us" artwork series
and her love of music, writing and theatrical singing endeavours.
